These scammers impersonate delivery service employees contacting you regarding package deliveries or issues. If contacted by text or email, you can receive links to update delivery or payment options. However, these links can release viruses onto your device, compromising your information. If contacted by phone, they will try to get you to release sensitive personal information, leading to identity and financial theft.
One thing you can do to avoid package delivery scams is to not engage with anyone from the delivery company if their email address or phone number does not match the official email address or phone number stated on the company website.
